About Us

The Forsee Family Farm was established in 1825, when my third great-grandfather settled in Owenton, KY. My second great-grandfather built the house in which we live today.

My great-grandfather started Forsee Southdowns with the purchase of three ewe lambs and a ram lamb for my grandfather's 4-H project in 1925.

We currently maintain a flock of 150 brood ewes. A large percentage of our flock traces back to Forsee R03-031, and his grandfather, Sooner 700. We use our own rams out of proven females to propel us into the future. We have always felt that the female is as important as any factor in making a true Stud Buck. We take great pride in continuing to produce predictable, productive, well-balanced Southdowns that excel in the show ring as well as breeding programs.

Forsee Southdown's continues to be the oldest flock in existence in the U.S. being led into the future by Morgan and Preston Forsee, the seventh generation on the family farm.
