THANKS TO OUR 2007 BUYERS
NUTRITION Hey sheep friends, I have a couple questions for you. How many of you spend money on the best feed and supplements available to produce your top show lambs? If you are like us, no expense is spared when it comes to feeding that potential champion. I want you to think about why you do that? Is it because you know that nutrition or the lack of nutrition has a direct link into the health and performance of the lambs you are feeding? Anything that you can add to the feed to give that lamb an edge you are willing to buy it. Well…………..what do you do with nutrition/supplements to insure that you are in the best of health and can perform your duties with a clear, active mind and body? Our world is so full of pollutants and toxins, through the preservatives in our food to the chemicals added in the processed foods, those toxins are in your body, causing all kinds of havoc throughout your system. The only way to give your body that peak performance in everyday life, activities and exercise is to put the best nutrition into your body. I have found a liquid (best utilized in your system) supplement full of vitamins and minerals that is a powerful antioxidant that can give your body that younger feel with mental clarity. For those of you who are already into nutrition and natural health, you already know the importance of what I have just shared with you. For those of who want more information about this supplement you may check out more detailed information about VEMMA on my web site at www.myvemma.com/barbharms Please sign in on the guest book or get back in touch with me and we can get you going to better health. |

To view some history on the sires’ side of our breeding program Click Here. The female side goes back to the same breeding as we always kept a set of the best females out of each of the rams we used. Therein lies the consistency and predictability of our breeding program. Just some background on our history in the sheep business: We started in the sheep business with six ewe lambs and a ram in 1976 and we currently have several ewe families that we can trace back to some of those original ewes! We started out and had excellent success with the big Suffolk show sheep and our sons won many championships, trophies and ribbons with them on the local, state and national level. At the urging of our oldest son, Brian, in the late 80’s early 90’s we changed direction of our breeding program and changed our flock over to the club lamb type/style of sheep. That decision has never been regretted!! The change came about by adding the influence of the "wether" type rams onto our stylish Suffolk ewes. We purchased very few ewes, but one we did is the great "Star" ewe from Northern Star and with her influence and the Lord’s continued blessings we have been able to produce the kind of rams, wethers and females that work for a vast number of serious club lamb breeders. With the addition of the genetics of "Slam Dunk", "RE-Load", and "Razor’s Edge" we are confident that we will be able to produce the quality of seed stock our current customers and new clients can utilize within their own breeding programs. Our mission is to be "Seed Stock" producers………..to have a breeding program that is consistent in quality and predictable in their genetics to have a positive influence on the Club Lamb Industry. We firmly believe that our success is dependent upon the success of our customers! We look forward to visiting with you at the sale.

Ram History "GIANT", Harms P279 (RR/NS) is our keeper "Starbuck" son. His mother (BS-79) is from our best producing ewe family. This ram is a changer ram for his style, length and scale. He has consistently stamped his lambs with super long hind saddles with extreme extension in the front. We are keeping a large number of his female. "POWER HOUSE", Harms W284 (RR/NN) is one of the "Power Horse" sons we kept. This lamb caught the attention of everyone who saw him. He is as complete a ram as we have ever seen. There are no holes in him. He has a great rack on him that spreads out into a wide, full loin that has correct junction to the hip. Not many black faced rams are as smooth in this area as "Power House". He consistently stamped that attribute in his lambs as well as the correct neck daughter that goes back to "Rambo" breeding. We will be keeping a set of his daughters to go back into the flock. Congratulations and Thanks to the Wamsley family of Indiana for buying "Power House"! We have a great set of ewe lambs and ram lambs sired by him so we made the decision to retain 25% of him. His genetic power should be a positive influence on the Wamsley flock. We look forward to a great working relationship with both Sindi and Ron. Be sure and stop by their flock in 2004 to see "Power House" lambs. "P.T.O.", Harms G39 (RR/NN) is another "Power Horse" son we kept and goes back to the same family as "Giant". His mother is "Hope" who was a very competitive show ewe a few years back. We lambed eight ewes to this ram and everyone of his lambs are good. They are powerfully muscled, yet smooth and stylish. We will be retaining all 9 of his daughters. "PROFILE". Harms G1 (RR/NS) is a "CD" son we kept. He also goes back to the same ewe family as "Giant" and his mother, "Faith", is a twin sister to "P.T.O.'s" mother, "Hope". His lambs are super extended in the front end, with a long level top and a deep twist in them. A lot of our wethers this year will be sired by him. Please call us with any questions! |
