NEW Weigh-in changes for Ohio State Fair
WEIGH-IN RULES |
1. All lambs must be weighed and properly identified to be permitted to exhibit in the Ohio State Fair Market Lamb Show. NO RE-WEIGHS WILL BE PERMITTED.
2. The top three lambs will be re-weighed at the conclusion of classes 3 through 34. Lambs must re-weigh within 5 pounds of the official weigh-in weight on the upper side only. Lambs weighing 136 to 140 pounds cannot reweigh over 140 pounds on their reweigh weight. Lambs will move up in a class if a lamb is eliminated during reweigh. No lambs will be eliminated on the lower side.
3. Any lamb not weighing 140 pounds or less at official weigh in will be placed in class 2. These lambs will not be eligible to compete for any further awards after class 2 is shown.
4. All lambs must have official USDA scrapie or premises ID in the lamb at the time of weigh in. The Ohio State Fair will no longer have official USDA identification.
All market lambs will be weighed at weigh-in on Tuesday, July 27. In the following breeds, lambs will be divided into weight breaks as evenly as possible after weighing: Hampshire, Suffolk, Brockle, Natural Colored and Grade. All lambs weighing 141 pounds or more at time of weigh in will be placed in the heavy weight class regardless of breed or sex. All market lambs should have a liftable dock. All market lambs must have official scrapie ear tags. |
