"Happy New Year!! Great news for you South Dakota 4-H show kids new lots have added to the South Dakota State Fair Book this coming year, 2012. In the Market/Meat Goat Division they have split the does and wethers so you will now be able to show up to 2 head in the doe division and 2 head in the wether division. This should help the show to grow at an even faster pace this year. Also all first and second place goats will be weighed back after each class.
On the Market lamb side of things they have added Meat Type White Face; All white face lambs exhibiting Cheviot, Dorset, Montadale, Southdown, or other white face meat breed characteristics. Market lamb showmen will be able to show up to 2 head of ewes, and /or 2 head of wethers in this new division to the Market Sheep this year.
Also new for the 2012 show year are the Skill-A-Thon contest in Beef, Sheep, and Swine, and the Premier Exhibitor in each species information about each of these new contests can be found on page 65 in the State Fair Handbook. More information can be found for any of the new classes and contests on this link to the South Dakota State Fair 4-H Handbook http://www.sdstate.edu/sdces/4h/index.cfm. Please keep this new information in mind when you start purchasing your goats and lambs for the upcoming show year.
Best of Luck to everyone in 2012 ---- Robert, Vicki and Hanna |

| This is a Raff bred buck out of Raff Boers Sammy. His sire is Out of Bounds which is out of Cuda. The dam side is a Stacy Harp bred doe. He has a great rib shape and will produce great does and wethers, we can hardly wait to see these kids hit the ground in 2012. |

Free Ride |
| This is a ram that is out of a ewe we bought off of Donnie Begalka's bred ewe sale. He is a Signature son. This ram has been a real changer ram and has thrown some neat lambs for us. We will be using him again some this year for 2012 lambs. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| Air Ride |
 |
| A son of Free Ride that we kept to use this fall, he is the longest handling ram we have ever had. We will be using him for 2012 lambs and this should be a good match with the ewes he will be with, can't wait to see these babies. |

| This is a B&B Howard 4103 son we raised from leasing the B&B Howard 4103 ram from Northern Star Livestock. We hope he will be a changer ram for us, he has all the right parts and is tight hided. Can't wait for his lambs in 2012. |

 |
| The sire of this fall ram is A&M's "American Express" This is a ram that we raised from a ewe that was purchased from Northern Star Livestock on a bred ewe sale. He is a big stout ram, that should work well on some of our Southdown ewes. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
He's smokin' a cool Southdown ram we purchased after seeing
him at the SD State Fair. He was Reserve Champion Southdown Ram there. He is a
neat package plenty of length and width, and very square. We used him on our
recently purchased Southdown ewes this fall 2008, and hope to have some very
impressive lambs from him for 2009 |

| We purchased this ram from
Fairley Farms at the Midwest Stud Ram Sale, he is a Alpha Dog X
Impact. This ram will be our "Lead Dog" when we turn out for
2010 lambs. He should raise the lambs to the next level for us
and we can not wait to see what the lambs are like. |

| This is a Cole/Meisenheimer bred ram the we purchased
from Dennis Wedel. This older ram has proven himself for Wedel
Southdowns and now he'll add some lead to our Southdown program. He's
long with a nice level hip and a powerful butt. We hope that his 2010
lambs will be what we are trying for in our southdowns |

he is a stout made big hipped ram that should put some power in his

This is a Dog X Deuce ram we
purchased at the Midwest Stud Ram Sale from Middlesworth
Club Lambs. He is young ram that shows a lot of potential
for being a good one. We will be using him on a few ewes for
2010 lambs.
Do to an unfortunate accident we lost this ram right after breeding season, we hope that his 2010 lambs will be as promising as he was. |

This ram was purchased late last fall 2006 from Jake Petzenhauser. He
has all the right breeding, a grandson of the Governor ram and out of a
Hancock bred ewe. We used him late last year and were pleased with
his lambs, so we will be using him for some January lambs this year. |

Thanks to Hays

QRNN
Purchased at the A-Team Sale, "Ultimate" is from Hancock Hampshires out of Ultra x Hancock 8058( a full sister to Derby). This ram should click great with our ewes giving us the Ultimate show lambs next season. Owned jointly with John & Sally Fastert
Do to the fact that we are
cutting back on the amount of ewes we will be lambing out this year we
are letting go of this proven ram. We had all ready purchased more rams
before deciding to cut back .With less ewes around we are over powered
with rams, your gain is our loss. |

RR
"Boost" we bought this ram last
summer from Double F Club Lambs of Winchester, KY. He was sired by "DNA"
who's full sister was the damn to Cabaniss' high selling wether sire at
the Midwest Stud Ram Sale
and out of one of Double F's best "Powerline" daughters. We are
using him on half of our ewes for our 2006 lamb crop. This ram has sired Grand & Reserve State Fair Champions for us in 2005. He has added
an extra Boost to our club lamb flock!!!
After retaining two years worth of daughters from "Boost" we are
offering him for sale. Boost has done a tremendous job making great ewes
as well as some champion wethers. |

Flock
History |
|
| |
Something different has arrived at our farm!! My
daughter Hanna and I have started a small Southdown flock for her
4-H project in 2009. We currently have ewes and ewe lambs with genetics
from Northern Star Livestock, Bullington, Fuller and Parmely. All of the
southdowns have been tested and are RR or QR and NN. We are
excited about the bred ewe purchased on the Industry's Elite Bred Ewe
sale from NSLS she is bred to their ram "New Generation" can't wait till
she lambs. We should have some nice wethers for sale out of these ewes,
watch for pictures on our web page.
We recently had the opportunity to
purchase several ewes from Jake Petzenhauser early this December {2007}
that should add a new level to our flock. These ewes are some of his
best that he did not have room for in his recent move. We are excited to
see the lambs from this purchase, Thank you Jake.
We have decided to cut back the
amount of ewes we will be lambing out in 2008 due to space and time
limits. Because of this we are no longer leasing the VanWell ewes. We
will be culling our own ewes and keeping only our best producers and
lambing out a select set of ewe lambs. Please feel free to contact us
{605-527-5263} or stop by to view our lambs anytime. We look forward to
helping you with your club lamb purchases |
